Join the mailing list and get a free download of The Rakehells doing a cover of Tainted Love. Originally written by Ed Cobb and recorded by Gloria Jones in 1964, however the 1981 Soft Cell version is more familiar to most people. Now see what The Rakehells did with it. This song is NOT on our new album, it’s just a special treat, enjoy!
It’s finally here, the shiny new Rakehells CD – Please Yourself; or The Devil in the Flesh. The recording is awfully good, it really livens up the morning commute wonderfully and sounds just terrific in a car.
To celebrate the CD release, The Rakehells are going to spontaneously reinterpret 10 of the songs live at a very special evening at the Trash Bar (thetrashbar.com) in Williamsburg on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m.
Booze fans note: There is OPEN BAR between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the back where the bands play, so show up early and get your Irish on for free. There are free tater tots, nature’s most delicious victual, for the portly and the unnaturally thin alike.
Not for nothing, but we need everybody to come. All of you. And people you know. Bear in mind how old you’ll be when our next one comes out in 2015. Exactly. Old. Carpe Saturn’s diem, friends!
